I perceive Lean as an extension and total package of Industrial Engineering Principles.
In basic Industrial Engineering the main focus is on increasing the productivity of Man & Machines..But lean goes beyond and facilitate improvement on productivity of space, energy , and enhances the productivity of money by way of reducing WIP and thereby the operational cost too

Due to implementation of Lean manufacturing, we could able to bring down the operating hours from 22.hrs/day to 16 hrs/day for the same demand. Very powerful tool. Needs TEI and passion.Does not require top driven.- Sivasu
